THE BISON ADVANTAGE
Our ranch. We raise our animals on a 100% grass fed diet (summer and winter). We suspect keeping them on their hereditary diet is a major contributing factor to countless testimonials of customers with digestive complications feeling great after a bison meal. Further, our bison are raised naturally without the use of growth hormones, stimulants, or antibiotics. Our bison herd is free range. Our grasslands are free from all human interference including sprays, herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. Rolling hills, trees, wildlife and water.
Simple. Beautiful. As it was.
Health. Of all conventional red meat, bison is the surest way to boost your cardiovascular health and raise your intake of antioxidants. Bison contains a high ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids ♥. It is one of the best known sources for iron, high in B vitamins (mental health), and zinc (immune function). Also rich in selenium (antioxidant). Studies have shown that introducing bison meat to your diet results in a healthier blood lipid panel which reduces inflammation, oxidization, and stress at the cellular level. Thanks to bison, you can feel good about a juicy burger again.
The environment. Bison are a keystone species. They play a key role in protecting grasslands (one of the lungs of our planet) and increase biodiversity of our flora and fauna. Most livestock pull up grass roots and flatten it with hooves, bison cut the grass with their teeth and their pointed hooves aerate the soil - encouraging grassland vitality. Their immune systems are strong, they live and breed 3x longer than cattle, and eat 30% less. They were made for the prairies and can even thrive over winter with their ability to dig through snow to get feed.
History. The best way to conserve bison is to consume bison. Now at a global population of 500,000, bison were once less than 1000 animals in 1899 due to over hunting. Of the global population, 95% are held by private ranchers like us. By purchasing bison meat you directly participate in the successful comeback story of the bison. Thank you.
